“ Having had a disruptive GCSE and Lower Sixth due to hospital treatments, I really benefited from being a mentee/student supported by Not Just Girls. During my time supported by Not Just Girls I have had mentoring sessions every couple of weeks, these mentoring sessions have been great! I have worked on UCAS and Apprenticeship applications as well as going through areas in my subjects that I struggled with. I can have support that is individual to me and can support me with what I find hard and work at a pace that is good for me.
During my mentoring sessions Becky has helped me to improve my confidence and communication skills, which will be invaluable as I go forward. She has also helped me edit my personal statement and cover letters to tell my story for a range of applications, which has helped me secure offers in places I am excited about. Not Just Girls has also helped me improve my grades and has kept me on a more structured study schedule so I can focus on school while still doing other activities, which was important to me after not always being able to do this.
I am so thankful for my mentoring sessions and the skills I have improved throughout, I am grateful for Becky who put in lots of time and effort to support me and continues to get me to be the best I could be despite some odds being against me.
I would definitely recommend Not Just Girls to anyone studying STEM or needing help with STEM applications as it really helped me and I am so happy I got involved. “

“Becky continues to inspire me with all that she does, whether that is inspiring students to take up an apprenticeship or mentoring girls, her passion and energy is contagious to all around her. Having seen her speak at multiple events, she captivates an audience of any age, clearly communicating her points and message. I look forward to seeing what she can achieve next.”
“Becky is a highly valued member of the South West Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (SWAAN). She has attended numerous events on our behalf, where she has spoken to groups and individuals about her experiences as an Apprentice, sharing with others the stages of her career path which have led her to where she is now. I would highly recommend Becky, as any group or activity would be Becky is reliable and considerate of others and comes forward with great ideas for different ways in which she can share her experiences with others. “”
